Should you go back to the Philippines while waiting for TIE

My opinion is No.  Try to wait for the TIE and get your regreso.

Once you already have a UGE approval/resolution for DNV, you’re no longer considered a “tourist”—you’re treated as a resident applicant/holder.

If you go back to the Philippines before getting your TIE (and without a “autorización de regreso” / regreso or at least an appointment/proof of process), you may run into problems at PH immigration (IO) or with the airline, especially if your Schengen days/visa are near expiry.

Worst-case scenario: you could be offloaded (not allowed to depart) or later have trouble re-entering Spain, and you could end up stuck in the Philippines.

If you try to “fix it” by applying for a tourist visa, they’re saying it may be rejected because you’re already considered a resident, not a tourist.

They claim you might be forced into something like starting over which is a lot of headache and risky.
